Xinjiang is endowed with cultural relics, historical sights and natural wonders. The ancient Chinese Silk Road running through the region has left on its way traces reflecting its developing, flourishing and decline. The ruins of Loulan Ancient Town and Jiaohe Ancient Town bear witness to the region's glorious past. The Sunday Bezaar in Kashgar well presents Xinjiang's diverse culture. The Flaming Mountain in Turpan is good example of the region's rugged terrain. Xinjiang also once served as China's Buddhism center, which is proved by the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves in Turpan. Day 1: Chengdu-Urumqi
Meet at Chengdu Airport,take the flight to Xinjiang.Our guide will pick you up at Urumqi airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.Overnight in Urumqi.
Day 2: Urumqi
Full day tour to the Heavenly Lake.
Heavenly Lake: The Heavenly Lake is a very beautiful mountain lake formed more than million years ago in the 4th glacial epoch, so the water in it is pure and icy. The altitude of the lake is up to 2150 meters above the sea level and got its fame as the "jewel in the crown". To the east of the lake stands the Bogda Peak-the highest peak in the east part of Tian Shan Mountain, which is capped by glacier and snow glistening in the sun, finely contrasted with blue lake water, forming fabulous scenery.After dinner,you may watch the folk singing and dancing show(at your own expenses).Overnight in Urumqi.
Day 3: Urumqi-Turpan-Dunhuang
Drive to Turpan,have a sightseeing of the Flaming Mountain on the bus, visit the Baizikeli Thousand Buddha Cave.Vist the Grape Valley,enjoy the view of desert.Visit the Karez Well and take a train to Dunhuang.Overnight on the train.
Day 4: Dunhuang
Arrive in Liuyuan in the morning,drive to Dunhuang.Visit the Mogao Grottoes.After that drive to the Echoing-Sand Dune and visit the Crescent Lake.In the evening,you may have a walk in nightmarket and enjoy local snacks(at your own expenses).Overnight in Dunhuang.
Day 5: Dunhuang-Jiayuguan Pass-Lanzhou
After breakfast,drive to Jiayuguan and visit Jiayuguan Pass,which is the largest and most intact pass of the Great Wall.It was built in the early Ming dynasty.After that,take a train to Lanzhou.Overnight on the train.
Day 6: Lanzhou-Chengdu
Arrive in Lanzhou in the morning,enjoy Lanzhou handmade noodles,the famous local snack.Appreciate the view of Lanzhou city,take a flight back to Chengdu,end tour.
